The TruJet Airlines just cut-short the travel time between Bangalore to Hampi by introducing 1 hour long flights between Bangalore (BLR) to Jindal Vijaynagar Airport (VDY) in Vidyanagar, which is just 38km from Hampi. And like the post title says, the air fare to this UNESCO World Heritage Site starts from ₹999 (including taxes).
